General Terms

BOOKING

All of our tours and courses, except for private hikes, can be booked directly at our homepage.
If it is still spaced at the hikes you can purchase the tickets directly of your guide (payment credit card or cash in NOK/Euro).

Online booking:
Please notice that FareHarbor charges an additional fee to guests for their booking services, based on a percentage of the total amount/payment of the hike (“Guest Fee”).

Private hikes:
Requests for private hikes have to be made in advance by email: [email protected] and will be responded as soon as possible. After the consent of the guest, a link to the payment of the tour will be enclosed in the email. The booked tour must be paid within 48 hours otherwise the reservation will be canceled.

Reservation without payment is not possible. Therefore, we recommend purchasing the tickets online on our homepage.

CANCELLATION

Day hikes:
Cancellation per mail up to 14 days in advance no fee, 13-8 days in advance the charge is 50%, 7-4 days the fee is 75% and 3 days in advance the fee is 100%.
Rebooking is possible after this deadline, up to 3 days before start of the hike.
NB! If a trip is postponed by the customer and later cancelled, we will not refund the tour fee amount.

Customers will receive a full refund or credit in case of operator cancellation due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances. No-shows will be charged the full price.

Courses and several day hikes:
Customers will receive a full refund or credit with a minimum 2 weeks notice of cancellation, thereafter, no refund will be made.

Customers will also receive a full refund or credit in case of operator cancellation due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances.

A customer booking of a day trip/course will receive notification of possible cancellation at the latest 7 days before commencement. The entire payment will then be refunded.

Contact us by mail or phone to cancel or inquire about a cancellation.

Rebooking for courses is possible after the deadline, up to 14 days in advance.

All of our deadlines are also valid in case of illness or accident and they are identical with the cancellation rules. Travel insurance is therefore highly recommended! 

NIGARDSBREEN

For all tours on Nigardsbreen, the boat is included in the price during the operating time from start of June until the end of September. The operating hours are 10:00 – 17:45. In June and September 10:00 – 16:45.
Out of the operating hours and if the boat cannot be used for safety reasons or technical defects, there is no claim for reimbursement or reduction of the price.

Age limit
The maximum age limit for children’s tariff is 12 years on the Kids Special Blue Ice Hike and the X-tra Short Blue Ice Hike. The age limits indicated in the tour program must be followed.

Packed lunches – Nigardsbreen
Lunches ordered online must be picked up at Breheimsenteret – the National Park Glacier Visitor Centre – before the hike. Lunch that is not picked up will not be refunded.

Start time – Meeting point
If the customer does not appear at the specified time in the program or at the right meeting point, the person has no right to any compensation for the tour fee.

SAFETY DECLARATION

Mountaineering – glacier hiking/ice climbing as well – is a risk sport. Your safety is of our utmost concern. Jostedalen Breførarlag AS (BFL) minimizes the risk through our well trained and experienced guides and instructors. Customers must sign a declaration form of responsibility when the course/trip commences. The undersigned participates on his own responsibility and Jostedalen Breførarlag AS or the guide/instructor shall not be liable for any personal injuries and damages arising on this guided glacier hike/climb. Any loss of distributed equipment is the participant’s responsibility and must be compensated. Price e.g: Ice ax NOK 600.-

We do not refund any tickets if participants don’t meet or interrupt the tour or course. Guests who are not fit to the physical requirements can be excluded from the tour by our guides or sent in a more simple tour without any right to compensation.

CHANGES

As far as possible, BFL will strive to carry out the specified trips and courses in accordance with the program. If necessary, however, we reserve the right to change the program. Such changes will not affect prices.

CUSTOMER LIABILITY

It is up to the customer to decide whether he/she meets the demands that the trip/course specifies. The customer is obliged to have the required equipment specified in the course/trip description and to comply with the advice of the guide/instructor. Should this not occur, the customer can be excluded from participation without the right to demand compensation.
The customer accepts full responsibility for his/her safety on all our activities. BFL does not accept responsibility for accidents or injuries which may arise in conjunction with one of our trips/courses.

FORCE MAJEURE

In the event of situations out of BFL’s control such as fire, natural catastrophes, etc, BFL reserves the right to cancel any agreement and accepts no legal liability for claims of damage, personal loss or injury.

THE CUSTOMER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR HIS OWN TRAVEL INSURANCE IN CASE OF INJURY, ILLNESS OR WITHDRAWAL DUE TO ILLNESS/DEATH IN THE FAMILY.
